Join us in celebrating the big opening of our final Netto conversion store in Southampton

Today we celebrate the opening of our last Netto conversion – one in almost 180 new look Asda Supermarkets to be opened over the course of the year.

The Netto conversion project this year has been described as a move that is “re-writing Asda’s future through one of the most successful retail integrations” – and we’d like to thank all our colleagues who have worked so hard to make it happen.

Karen Hubbard, our Executive Director for Store Proposition, says: “The reason the conversions have gone so well is down to the way in which all the teams have worked better together.”

“The way in which Distribution, Supply, Trading, ISD, Marketing have all managed the project is what ‘Better Together’ really is about. Without the dedication and support of the field and store teams – Supermarkets and Chain – we would not be where we are today.”

This was backed up by Ian Stansfield, Director of Distribution, who said: “The conversion of Netto stores into Asda Supermarkets has been an immensely exciting and challenging programme. The ability to integrate 140 new supermarkets in a 6-month time period would simply not have been possible had the business been unable to work effectively across many different functions.”

“By thinking differently and galvanising the business behind one common goal we have released the real power of working ‘Better Together’ and as a result the way we operate has changed forever and the door for future growth is now wide open.”

Our new Netto stores have been getting great feedback from existing and new customers and our store colleagues have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of their stores.
