Welcome to our new Asda LGBT network

Have you heard about Asda’s new LGBT network? Started by colleagues in Asda House a few months ago, the new group aims to provide all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender colleagues within the business with support, advice and a network of friendly faces.

Our LGBT network actively promotes diversity through events and education within Asda – including the recent commemoration of World AIDS Day on 1st December 2011.

A number of colleagues sold red ribbons around Asda House and The Mint in support of the event – an opportunity for people all over the world to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and commemorate people who have died.

They raised £155 for this worthy cause and with a generous donation from The Asda Foundation managed to contribute a fantastic final sum of £255.

The group will be holding more events and supporting colleagues within the network by providing advice and linking them to external sources of support. Members will enjoy a safe and supportive environment and access to lots of information and guidance from other LGBT groups on equality and diversity issues.

Our first network event is being planned this month so keep your eyes peeled for further information on Social News. To register your interest in being part of the network, contact any of our Steering Group members directly by e-mail or phone at Asda House.
