Indi is our Colleague of the Year
Congratulations to all our colleagues who have gone above and beyond the call of duty – we heard some truly inspirational stories at this year’s Asda Awards.

The 15 awards were presented at a ceremony in Liverpool as part of the YBM conference on 31st January and the finalists received a standing ovation to welcome them.
Our Colleague of the Year Award went to George Ethical Trading Manager Indira Chauhan for her work to improve the working conditions and lives of workers in Bangladesh, India and China.

Our President and CEO, Andy Clarke, said: “We’ve heard about a lot of our colleagues of the year and how they’ve changed the lives of the people around them, but when you are changing the lives of people around the world that’s extraordinary, and that’s just what Indi does.”
Indi also went on to win the Integrity in Action Award for showing integrity in everything she does. Indi will represent Asda on the world stage at the Shareholders’ meeting in Bentonville.
Long-serving colleague Paul Baker, ROM for Essex, picked up the Peter Asquith Award for excellence in retail.

It was fantastic to receive the Living Store Of The Year award on behalf of my colleagues, they are amazing and the best team, The acheivements in Teesside have been incredible this year,
Two refits in 19 months and numerous visits from Directors Asda house colleagues.
The last refit was completed from start to finish in 7 days, with just 4 days to replenish and obtain store opening standards, thats 500 comps of gear to move off and on the salesfloor, 168 pallets, and 9 deliveries of George and GM
I am so proud of my store and my colleagues for showing off such excellent standards consistently day after day
Thank You to everyone who congratualted me at the YBM,what a fantastic few days you can see why we are ahead of our competitors its a brilliant plan for 2012
