Express an Interest for the Asda Apprenticeship Scheme now!

We’ve got another exciting opportunity for all eligible retail colleagues to “Express an Interest” in the Asda Apprenticeship Scheme. This application window is open from Saturday 21st September 2013 to midnight on Friday 4th October 2013.

If you’re interested please don’t delay talking to your line manager – and get them to endorse your application. Over 2000 colleagues have already signed up to complete a Retail Apprenticeship this year.

Our Apprenticeships are tailored to suit your needs and give you the fantastic opportunity to learn while you earn. There are many great examples of this across our business and over 3000 colleagues have successfully achieved a qualification since the programme commenced in June 2011.

Finlay Macleod, a colleague in Aberdeen Beach, joined the store in November 2010 at the age of 17. At the time he was an engineering student at college, but soon got the retail bug and decided college and engineering wasn’t for him. By December 2012 not only had he been promoted to a Section Leader but had also completed his Level 2 Retail Apprenticeship, he is now working through the Level 3 Apprenticeship programme.

So what’s new for September 2013?

We’re offering colleagues an alternative to completing an Apprenticeship in this application window with the introduction of a Certificate in Retail Knowledge or Customer Service. The the great news is English and Maths may not be required for this qualification

We continue to work with Babcock International Group, and their dedicated Vocational Learning Advisors, who are allocated to each of our stores to support and guide colleagues through the programme.

How do I sign up?

Interested colleagues should complete an “Expression of Interest and Eligibility form” available from the people team or your store manager before midnight on Friday 4th October 2013.
