Green Room Stoptober

We're helping colleagues to quit smoking this Stoptober!

This year as part of our support for the stop smoking campaign “Stoptober” we’re helping three Asda House colleagues Adrian McKeon, Nicki Raybould and Jeff Percival to kick the habit.

Throughout October we’ll be helping them to give up smoking with help and support from the Asda Pharmacy and our free stop smoking service and products. And they’ll be sharing their experiences of quitting in a weekly blog here on the Green Room.

Meet the colleagues we’re helping to quit:

Adrian McKeon – Asda Brand Director:
Ade has worked at Asda for 3 and a half years, joining in January 2010 as Category Director for BWS, given his previous experience as CEO Cobra Beer, MD Allied Domecq and various sales and marketing roles in the wine industry. Ade broadened his retail experience as Integration Trading Director for Netto stores, supporting the Netto team during the transition to Asda. Subsequently he spent a couple of years as Commercial Director of Asda’s Ambient food business before taking up his current role as Asda Brand Director.

Outside of work, Ade likes rugby, coaching and watching, trying to keep fit and spending time with his family. Ade is married with six children and lives in South West London.

Ade said: “I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and if possible want to live for another 50 to enjoy watching my children grow up and to meet their children. By stopping smoking I understand that this gives me another 13 years of living which means 13 years more time to enjoy the family growing up.”

Nicki Raybould – Asda Media Centre Manager:
“I’ve worked in and around Asda for 12 years since I left Uni. I worked for five years at Asda’s creative agency and then another 8 years in various roles in marketing. So pretty Asda green through and through. I’m a keen horsewoman and I am presently focusing on my dressage with my horse Penny. Having horses and competing is very expensive, so I am looking forward to saving some money and have more spare money in my budget!”

Jeff Percival – Wage Planning Analyst:
“I’m Jeff Percival and work in the Wage Planning department in Asda House. I have worked for Asda for 37 years in total and have smoked for all of these years. I have been told that I need to stop after having a full health check and believe that the support that I will get from signing up for Stoptober will be a terrific help.”
