We held a Strawberry Tea event at Chubb Churchill, a local sheltered housing residents group run by Westward Housing. The residents tucked into sandwiches, cakes, strawberries and cream washed down with tea, coffee, summer fruits or lemon squash. We raised a total of £52.57 for Breast Cancer Care.

Supported East the Water School's year one African topic by cooking up a healthy African inspired Sweet Potato and Chickpea Curry. Ingredients were: 2 onions, 1 Garlic, 100 g of Root Ginger, 3 tins of Chickpeas 2 Tins of Chopped Tomatoes, 1.5 Kg of Sweet Potatoes and a sprinkling of ground Cumin. There was enough curry for all 70 of the year one children to have a small bowl full, and only cost £4.41 from the schools toolkit budget! The children came to me in groups of ten and I spoke to them about the importance of eating fruit and vegetables as part of a healthy diet.
