ASDA Bideford hosted a P.E.E.P. (Pupil Employer Engagement Programme) event at the store on 24th October. The programme was set up by the North Devon Employment and Skills Board in response to a survey that concluded that children who had contact with employers on four or more occasions during their time at school were five times more likely to be in work, training or further education after they leave school. On the day the children from Great Torrington School were given: a store tour, a presentation and some tasks around problem solving, analysing figures and creative thinking.

Community Champion Peter Wilcox cooked up 3 Sweet & Sour Stir-fries for Pynes Infant School year 1 Pupils. The children have been learning about the Chinese new year and the school asked if ASDA could help. To combine the activity with healthy eating I offered to cook them a healthy stir fry with Turkey, Wholegrain Rice, Onion, Carrot, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Pineapple and Sweet & Sour Sauce. The children really enjoyed it!
