ASDA Bideford's Trading Manager Don Murray will be cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats Starting on 1st September and aiming to complete the sponsored ride in 7 to 10 days! All the money raised will be going to Tickled Pink. Don has already received over £1,000 in pledges and the store will support him with a Tickled Pink fundraising day later in the summer.
Care For Kids won our Chosen By You... Given By Us vote for January and February winning £200! Pictured is Nicola Joslin who was delighted by the support from our customers with Don Murray Asda Trading Manager. The runners up were Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and The Macular Society each recieving £50.
ASDA Bideford Supported the Chef's Corner healthy eating event at Bideford Pannier Market. the event was aimed at families and children who were given a demonstration by top local chefs. The children then went on to preparing and cooking their own stir fry. The day was a great succsess and will be repeated soon, ASDA donated all the ingredients used on the day. Asda Bideford's Community Life Champion Peter Wilcox has Started Volunteering a few hours each Wednesday at the Northern Devon Food Bank In Mill Street. Supporting the local community
Community Life Champion Peter Wilcox has been continuing to support the local Job Centre. Helping out with presentations to young people and conducting one to one interviews giving people the opportunity to improve their chances in a real interview.
During February Asda have been fundraising for the British Heart Foundation. We Supported the Ramp Up the Red day with colleagues wearing red, we had a rowing machine, a tombola and our GSM Amanda Hubbard did a Pedometer Challenge taking 11,468 steps in a single day! customers were invited to guess how many steps Amanda took for a 50p donation and the winner generously donated the prize of a Fruit and Vegatable hamper to the Bideford Bay Children's Centre.
Community Life Champion Peter Wilcox supported the Bideford College Careers and Community fair. Our stall showcased what Careers ASDA has to offer school leavers.
Harbour the Bideford based homeless charity were runners up in our Chosen By You...Given By Us charity vote for November and December. Winning £50 an additional £119.43 was raised during our "Warmth week" before Christmas. Customers also donated 74 items of clothing to the Salvation Army.
