Welcome to the Green Room page for
We went along to Sandwell Hospital Children's Ward to deliver eggs donated by customers. We also took some of our Easter activity packs and some Teddy Bears to give to each of the children on the ward which were personally delivered by the Easter Bunny himself. It's always lovely to put smiles on kids faces but to see children who are feeling poorly break out into a huge grin is just so rewarding. What an amazing job community colleagues have!
We were invited along to Ryders Green primary school to judge the Easter Bonnet parade, the hall was packed with children who had all made a huge effort with their bonnets so judging them was almost impossible, we took along Easter Eggs as prizes for the winners but every child was given an egg at the end of the day. Here are the class teachers who took to the stage first, we chose the bonnet in the middle as winner but they were all brilliant!
Myself and the Easter Bunny (AKA Paula community colleague at Tipton) went along to Glebefields Nursery to help out with the Easter Egg hunt. Plastic eggs were hidden in the garden, so when the children found one they could bring it to the Easter Bunny and exchange it for a chocolate egg! Lovely to see them all looking around the garden and to see how excited they got when they found an egg!
A giant Easter Bunny greeted our customers last weekend and was a big hit with the kids who couldn't believe how tall he was. They also wanted to know if he made of chocolate!
The Lindt Gold Bunny car stood in our foyer for the day and drew quite a lot of attention from customers and colleagues.
The Macmillan Cancer Support Bus visited our store to offer information to anyone who is or has been affected by cancer. The bus is crammed full of leaflets and practical information on all aspects of how we can be supported during very difficult times. There is also a team on board the bus for anyone who needs to talk things through or gather a better understanding of the help that's available to them. This is a truly fantastic service!
We interupted Bingo at The Goldies Club but no one minded as we were presenting them with a £50 cheque from our Chosen by You,Given by Us vote. I'ts a fantastic club run by a lovely lady called Olive that meets every two weeks for the over 50s. They try to have lots of different activities going on each time and will be putting our cheque towards a meal out at the casino - sounds brilliant! Thank you to all the customers who vote for our good causes with the green tokens.
We went along to Glebefields Nursery to help the children make cookies that they will present to their mums during a special Mother's Day assembly. I think there was more flour on us than in the cookies but we all had a great time making them and I'm sure they will taste fabulous!
