At the completion of the Birkett Long £50 Challenge in aid of St Helena Hospice we have raised £1,065.07 for the Hospice. We would like to say a very big thank you to all the colleagues who supported us in this fantastic fundraising event and our customers for their support. Pictured Sandra Bates and Hugo Marques with Lou Davison from the Hospice here to collect the money.

On Friday 12th September we had the RAFA in store collecting for their charity and selling their goodies. Pictured are Ken and Peggy Clifford, local residents who help many local causes including the RAFA, Age Concern and Take Heart, a cardiac support group. I have had the pleasure of meeting them through my volunteering at Age Concern and of course when they come into store shopping.

For the third year in a row Asda Harwich have taken on the Birkett Long £50 Challenge in aid of St Helena Hospice. Two of our lovely Asda colleagues, Sandra Bates and Mary Long, cycled from Asda Harwich to Mersea Island and back, a distance of 59 miles, to help raise money for this challenge. Collectively the girls have risen a total of over £520.00. Congratulations and very well done.

Event hos

For the third year running, Asda Harwich has taken on the £50 challenge to raise money for St Helena Hospice. The Birkett Long £50 Challenge is an apprentice-style competition where businesses register for the challenge and received £50 on the challenge launch day. They are then given 3 months to multiply their money by being as creative as possible in their fundraising efforts. Two of our male colleagues, Shane and Ashley, volunteered to sit in a bath of Gelli Baff for the morning to raise money together with their mascot Dandylion
