Today marks a special day at Asda Newton Mearns. We celebrated our front end colleague Nancy's 80th birthday. Nancy is one of our longest serving colleagues with 26 years service. Nancy's checkout was done up to the nines so that all the customers could join in with us to celebrate this special milestone. Once again Happy 80th Birthday Nancy! :)
This fisherman was telling me all about his wee boat and who helped him on it. Shared some stories of his time in fishing. Was great to chat to these men and hear some of their very interesting stories. This was a very successful night for everyone and the men went home happy with their new PFD for them and their crew. This fisherman was signing the documents for him to take away the PFD for him and his crew. Each fisherman got at least 2/3 PFD's for their boats and each fisherman took them away in an Asda Bag for Life for them to keep to use for their shopping. Even a simple bag made them smile. It was good to see so many out and doing the training in one go and then distributing the life jackets. Very successful event. Included in photo is Lesley Hammond (CLC).
This photo was taken at the Burrendale Hotel on the evening of the Fishermans Mission conference which Jeremy and I both attended only on different evenings. This photo was taken as they wanted it for maybe a banner for the Mission. Included in photo in Lesley Hammond (CLC).
