Welcome to the Green Room page for
The Ayrshire stores hold a football tournament every year, against all Ayrshire stores. This year for the third year running Kilmarnock came first beating Irvine into second place.
On May 19th we arranged a football tournament for all the Ayrshire stores. It was played at the Powerleague in Kilmarnock and the winners for the third year running was Kilmarnock store. WELL DONE GUYS.
The Sky Project is one of our main projects this year. The group supports children who have had issues at school and life in a deprived area. It runs group meeting in the evening to try and keep children from getting involved with gangs and to keep them active. We gave them a tombola from which they raised £100 and also asked Asda Foundation for some support for them. Here is Ross collecting the cheque from Joe Neish.
At the end of the visit we took the children into the canteen where our colleagues made them very welcome with a drink and a cake. The children really enjoyed the bridge where they could see the whole store, and some even got to sit in the GSM. seat.
On the day of our cycle challenge several colleagues wore 'onsies', which added more fun to the day and gave everyone including the customers a bit of a giggle.
Kilmarnock College challenged the store to cycle around Scotland to raise money for our chosen charity, Tickled Pink. Almost forty colleagues and students participated; we reached as far as Kinloss at the top of Scotland and created a great atmosphere in the store. In total we raised over £700.
