Simmer Down Festival. Myself and Asda Perry Barr Colleague Debra were lucky enough to be able to work backstage with checking in the main artists! this meant we were able to meet and greet them, this was a great opportunity and we both had an amazing time. Over 12 thousand people attended making this a huge community event!
Local Impact Funding application for £600 towards Birmingham's biggest free reggae festival held at Handsworth Park on Sunday 19th July, This featured a massive line up of local and international artists, plenty of food, craft stalls, dance activities, arts and education workshops. The Funding given by Asda Perry Barr was used towards the Youth Takeover Tent, this helped young budding performers showcase their own skills which included, dance, drama, film, photography, music and spoken word giving them a chance to perform in public and build confidence, this also encouraged young amateurs from the community to get involved. We are very proud that we were able to contribute towards this event and help young people to follow their dreams.
Asda 50th Birthday Celebrations mixed with Big Locals Family Fun Day held on Sunday 26th July, it may have been wet and windy but we all had a great time! and plenty of cake!!
