Karen our Community Life Colleague held a secondhand book sale for Tickled Pink. The customers loved it!
The lady from East Durham Gymnastics picking up 2 cheques. One for being one of the CBYGBU and the other a donation by Asda foundation. She was in tears as they struggle to raise the money needed to keep the group going.
We had our first students from Dene Community School in to our store. The 2 students were picked for 100% Attendance and were rewarded with lunch and a store tour along with the stores GSM or Deputy Manager. They really enjoyed their time and found it interesting too.
Our big event for Tickled Pink – our local college wrote a song for Tickled Pink and came into the store to perform it. It started off with just a couple and slowly they were joined by more members from various parts of the store until they were all performing the song. It was very moving and a wonderful tribute to a worthwhile campaign and helped us raise money and awareness too.
We held a full Celebration Lunch for all our colleagues to say thank you for working so hard during the last 3 difficult months
