After a very busy partying morning I headed down to Newtownards in the rain to marshall at their half marathon with my fellow Community Champions of Northern Ireland. We had a great night with NO rain and I clapped all night at every runner and walker that passed my station really great well done to these people who were amazing to do such a long tiring run ... it was great night to feel proud that amazed supported these people !!!!
The Palms in the jethro centre are amazing bunch of senior citizens every year they crochet or knit sew something for Local Lurgan show and they always win this year was no different it was a crochet and sewed standard lamp shade and pole plus a fabulous decorated mirror ...they always entered in ghe amazing hats made for their daffodil teaparty earlier in the year
This is Ruth who made this amazing cake to represent the Queen for her 90th age even got tartan and horses onto this amazing cake.
Elaine was invited to the end of season garden party for the Palms In Jethro Centre it turned out to be the Queen's 90th celebration with the Queen and Princess turning up as well... a great garden party very fancy.
I had great support for my Strawberry Tea party Ann from home shopping in Portadown came along and also Kerrie and Janice from Cookstown. Kerrie is leaving the community role in Cookstown and moving to another store so her and her new replacement Janice came along to see how it's all put together. Edgarstown Community Association were amazed at how efficient Asda Portadown was we came in dressed table and served cleaned up all morning they never done anything only chat! A bit like myself!
I got this fabulous cake made for my Strawberry Tea party by Drumalara cake company the baker is a 13 year old girl with amazing talent she definitely has a great baking future ahead of her.
This is Anna one of the ladies in Edgarstown Community Association who has survived breast cancer and who spoke about it and then received these amazing flowers plus a pressie from Breast Cancer Care.
We held our Portadown Strawberry Tea fundraiser outside of the store. We went to Edgarstown Community Association and met with Phyllis who showed us her best small community centre award which she won a month ago. We were joined by the previous lord mayor Darryn who is still a great supporter of this small community group and David Simpson, our local MP, also attend for some tea.
