Welcome to the Green Room page for
In this photo is Jennie our cash office colleague from Asda Pwllheli with her partner and our Star Volunteer, Gareth Hughes. Alongside them is the fantastic team from Orchid - George Chandler, Doug Nairn, Jessie Hill and the CEO Rebecca Porta at St Bartholomew's Hospital, who were waiting for our car to arrive and greet us. Gareth has been amazing with all his support for our Orchid events, they have raised awareness and money for Orchid Male cancer.
In this photo is Jennie our cash office colleague from Asda Pwllheli with her partner and our Star Volunteer Gareth Hughes. He is fighting cancer and wants to raise awareness and money for Orchid Male cancer. We were invited to meet the Orchid cancer team and I can't tell you how much it means to us all Thank you so much!
So proud.. we had been invited to London to the Orchid tissue bank at St Bartholomew's Hospital. We were given a guided tour by the head of research for male cancer - Professor Dan Berney and the CEO of Orchid - Rebecca Porta. All the team made such a fuss and a warm welcome to our star volunteers Gareth and Jennie. Nothing was too much trouble, they were so grateful for all the fundraising and awareness that we have done as a small store and we are going to carry on. We totally appreciated everything. Gareth is fighting cancer and it had been Jennie's greatest wish for a long time for her and Gareth to go to London as he'd never been and always said he didn't want to go, but because he was invited by Orchid he went and there was no stopping them. They went on a London bus tour, saw the sights, lots of photos and happy memories to treasure for them. It was lovely to see and to share plus it was Jennie's 60th birthday. They had a lovely lunch and a surprise birthday cake, cards and presents for her. Thank you so much. We were invited at the beginning of the year but Gareth was too ill as he was having chemotherapy; he's still fighting and not giving up but he has certainly been given inspiration and made lovely memories!
